POWER RECEPTACLE
Power receptacles, commonly power outlets, not only provide convenience, but can be strategically placed for appliances and devices within the room. Power outlets provide electricity to devices without installing a permanent connection to each device, greatly improving home life. Specialized power receptacles exist to provide the right amount of electricity with proper characteristics.
Clean Power
“Clean” power receptacles filter the amount of electrical noise providing reliability for sensitive applications like computing or audio systems. Sufficient electrical noise can cause computers to shut off to avoid damage, as well as introduce static to any music being listened to from audio equipment.
High Current
Certain appliances require more power than others; an electric stove uses more electricity to heat up than a toaster. Therefore high current receptacles exist to provide a larger amount of electricity to appliances such as clothes dryers, electric ovens, air conditioners, and electric car chargers.
Uninterrupted Power Supply
Critical devices like life-support equipment need power even during a blackout. Uninterruptable power receptacles store power within battery banks attached to them to provide power for a limited time.
Isolated Power
Outlets in wet areas of the house, like bathrooms and kitchens, are outfitted with safety measures to prevent electric shock. If a spike in electrical usage is detected, the power source is shut off to prevent injury or death, and power can be restored through a reset switch.
